1. Purpose
These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between LeeonIPL Corp. (the "Company") and users in connection with the use of the Findip service (the "Service") provided by the Company.
2. Definitions
- "Service" means the Findip patent-search API and related web services provided by the Company.
- "User" means any person who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
- "API key" means the unique authentication credential issued for use of the Service.
- "Paid Service" means a paid feature provided by the Company.
- "Search credit" means a non-cash unit used solely to measure use of metered Service features.
3. Effect and Modification of the Terms
- These Terms take effect upon being posted on the Service screen or otherwise notified to users.
- The Company may modify these Terms within the scope permitted by applicable law, and any modifications will be announced at least 7 days before the effective date.
4. Provision of the Service
- The Company provides the following services.
- Semantic patent search API
- Patent details and drawings API
- Patent landscape and analytics API
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integration
- API key management and usage dashboard
- The Service is provided 24 hours a day, year round, in principle. However, it may be temporarily suspended for system maintenance or other reasons.
5. Formation of the Service Agreement
- The service agreement is formed when the user completes registration.
- The Company may refuse a registration request in any of the following cases.
- When another person's identity is used
- When false information is entered
- When the request would otherwise interfere with service operation
6. Fees and Payment
- Fees for the Paid Service are posted on the pricing page within the Service.
- Fees are charged on a monthly subscription basis, and posted prices are net of tax. The value-added tax or sales tax of the user's country of residence is added by Paddle at the time of payment.
- Payment for the Service is handled, depending on the buyer's region, by one of the following Paddle entities acting on behalf of the Company as the Merchant of Record for this transaction — United States: Paddle.com Inc. / Canada: Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd. / all other regions: Paddle.com Market Limited (collectively, "Paddle"). Card payments, billing, tax (VAT/sales tax) reporting, invoice issuance, and refund processing are carried out through Paddle, and the Paddle Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply to payment-related matters.
- Search credits measure metered use of the Service. Each patent search (
/api/v1/search/semantic) uses 1 search credit, while an image (drawing) search or sequence search on that same endpoint, and each analytics request (/api/v1/search/semantic-analytics), uses 2. Detail lookups (/api/v1/patents/details), drawings (/api/v1/drawings), document fetches (/api/documents/{publication_id}), and MCP resource fetches use 0 credits. - If an LLM or other client executes multiple metered searches to produce one response, each search accepted for execution uses credits separately.
- Search-credit quotas reset monthly based on the billing date. Unused credits do not carry over. Search credits have no cash value and may not be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash. When the quota is exhausted, search requests are restricted until the next reset.
- API request rate limits are separate from search-credit usage and may apply to all API requests, including 0-credit requests.
7. Refund Policy
- A full refund is available within 14 days of payment for any reason. Refund requests should be sent to contact@findip.ai.
- When a subscription is canceled, the Service remains usable until the next billing date, and recurring charges stop after that date.
- If a payment failure is not resolved within 14 days, the subscription is automatically canceled.
- See the Refund Policy for details.
7-2. Prepaid Top-Ups for the Metered API
- (Prepaid top-ups) Notwithstanding Article 6(2), a metered API contract that charges per call and is paid by prepaid top-up (a "Prepaid Contract") is used within the amount the user has topped up in advance (the "Balance"), and each call deducts its usage amount at the contract rates from the Balance. Top-up amounts and rates are exclusive of VAT, which is added at the time of each top-up. The Company issues a receipt through its payment provider (Paddle) for every top-up.
- (Balance refunds) The Balance does not expire. If a user terminating a Prepaid Contract requests it, the Company refunds the unused Balance as of termination; amounts already used are not refunded. Refunds of Prepaid Contract top-ups are governed by this paragraph instead of Article 7.
- (Suspension when the Balance runs out) When the Balance runs out, API calls under the Prepaid Contract stop, and they resume within a few minutes after the user tops up again. Because there is a short delay between checking the Balance and stopping calls, any usage beyond the Balance in the few minutes before the stop is deducted from the next top-up.
8. User Obligations
- Users must keep their API keys secure and must not share them with third parties.
- Users must not use the Service for any unlawful activity.
- Users must not interfere with service operation through excessive API calls.
- Users must not systematically or repeatedly collect the search results, bibliographic data, full text, and drawings provided through the Service (collectively, "Search Results") so as to reproduce all or a substantial part of the patent database built and operated by the Company (the "Index"). Neither the fact that the use stayed within the search-credit quota nor the fact that all usage-based fees were paid, on its own, justifies a violation of this paragraph.
- Users must not use Search Results to build a separate database and provide or sell that database to third parties, or operate a service based on it.
- Users must not redistribute the full text, bibliographic data, or drawings contained in Search Results to third parties outside the Service. However, citing individual documents in the ordinary course of business, or presenting specific documents for advisory, examination, or reporting purposes, is not treated as redistribution.
- Users may store (cache) Search Results within their own systems for 30 days from the time the Search Results are first received, in order to improve response times and avoid duplicate calls. Search Results older than 30 days must be deleted, or refreshed by querying the Service again. Paragraphs 4 through 6 continue to apply to cached Search Results.
- Paragraphs 4 through 6 do not restrict ordinary use in which a person views Search Results through the screen or an MCP client and uses them for their own internal work, such as research, analysis, review, or preparing reports.
9. Restrictions on Service Use
The Company may restrict service use in any of the following cases.
- Continuous violation of the rate limit (60 calls per minute)
- Use of the Service in an abnormal manner
- Unauthorized use of another person's API key
- Interference with the stable operation of the Service
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- The Company is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure or other events beyond its reasonable control.
- The Company does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of information obtained by users through the Service.
- Patent data is for reference only and may not be used as the basis for legal judgment.
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company's aggregate liability in connection with the Service shall not exceed the amounts the user actually paid to the Company during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. The Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.
- Nothing in this Article excludes or limits any liability of the Company or any right of the user that cannot be excluded or limited under the mandatory law of the user's country of residence (such as consumer-protection law); where such mandatory law conflicts with these Terms, that mandatory law prevails.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Company is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
- Disputes arising in connection with use of the Service are subject, as the court of first instance, to the courts having jurisdiction at the Company's principal place of business.
- However, this Article does not impair the consumer-protection rights granted to the user by the mandatory law of the user's country of residence, nor the right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
These Terms take effect from July 15, 2026.
Article 7-2 takes effect from September 28, 2026.
